About Us
Redeemer Church of Bakersfield is a new church that started in 2010. Founding pastor, Shawn Carpenter, and his family moved to Bakersfield in 2009 and began connecting within their neighborhood and community. From there, a number of like-minded families, as well as new believers, have partnered with the Carpenters to help start Redeemer Church.
Redeemer Church currently meets on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am in Hart Elementary School (Old River Rd/Ridge Oak Dr.). We exist to make much of Jesus Christ. We desire to do so through worship, community and mission. Foundational to our practice is what we believe: we are saved by grace alone through faith alone, preach Christ alone from God's Word alone and sing and live to God's glory alone.
If you desire or have been invited to investigate our community, please know that we have a children's ministry up through age 5. Children ages 6 and up we ask to stay with their families in the service. We also have midweek small groups called Redeemed Life Groups designed to help you live out the redeemed life.
